Protect your brain through exercise

Looking after your brain doesn’t stop with an assessment.  It starts with taking action.

Research shows that regular exercise is one of the most effective ways to support brain health, with growing evidence suggesting it can improve the brain’s size, memory, executive function, and mood, while helping to reduce the risk of cognitive decline.

Brainy Activ Protect is a science-backed exercise program specifically designed to support brain health and healthy ageing. Through fun, engaging and gamified exercise sessions, Protect combines cardiovascular fitness, strength training and dual-task activities to challenge both the body and the brain in a supervised and supportive environment.

Whether your goal is to reduce your dementia risk, stay mentally sharp or continue living independently, Brainy Activ Protect provides a structured pathway to better brain health through movement.

How Brainy Activ Protect works

At Brainy Activ Protect, we recognise that no two people are the same. Everyone begins their journey with an individual assessment conducted by one of our Accredited Exercise Physiologists, allowing us to understand your cognitive function, functional capacity, medical history and personal goals.
This assessment helps us determine the most appropriate starting point, ensuring your exercise program is safe, enjoyable and tailored specifically to your needs.

Step 1

Initial Exercise Physiology Assessment

Your first appointment includes a comprehensive assessment of your strength, balance, mobility, cardiovascular fitness and functional capacity. We’ll also discuss your medical history, current symptoms and any cognitive concerns to ensure your program is individualised from day one.

Step 2

Your Tailored Exercise Pathway

Following your assessment, we’ll recommend the exercise pathway best suited to your current needs.

For Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) or those focused on prevention

If you are physically independent and able to participate safely in a group environment, you’ll typically commence our Brainy Activ Protect classes. We also recommend a tailored gym-based exercise program to complement the classes, allowing us to target your individual strength and fitness goals while the group sessions provide additional cognitive challenge, social engagement and dual-task training.

For More Advanced Cognitive Impairment

If you require a higher level of supervision, we’ll initially recommend one-on-one Exercise Physiology sessions. These sessions allow us to closely monitor your movement, build confidence and tailor every aspect of your exercise prescription to your individual needs. As your exercise confidence and capacity continues to grow, these sessions will progressively transition into small 4:1 Exercise Physiologist-led groups, allowing participants to continue receiving personalised support within a closely supervised environment.

Step 3

A Program That Evolves With You

BrainyActiv Protect combines cardiovascular exercise, progressive strength training and brain specific dual-task activities to challenge both the body and the brain. Every program is individually prescribed and progresses alongside your strength, fitness and cognitive ability, ensuring you’re always challenged at the right level.
